3 Things to Do Near Milwaukee During Thanksgiving 2021
< Back to blogNow that the spooky season is over, we can move on to the season’s next most exciting festivity—Thanksgiving!
The holiday may only be one day but that doesn’t mean we can’t start celebrating now. Luckily, Milwaukee and its surrounding suburbs are brimming with exciting fall activities that will make your November extra special. See below for a few things to add to your turkey day agenda:
Break a Sweat at the Drumstick Dash
There’s no better way to work up an appetite than with a 5k! People all over the country lace up their sneakers to get in some cardio, embrace community, and support a local cause at a community race. In Milwaukee, the Drumstick Dash does not disappoint on all of these fronts. Starting at 8:30 a.m., it’s fun and festive and all participants receive a pumpkin pie at the finish line.
Go on a Thanksgiving Hike
If you’re in the mood for a slower and more scenic activity, take friends and family on a morning hike! Places like Endicott Park or Fox Brook Park, both in Brookfield, provide the perfect backdrop for slow strolls to kick the day off right.
Go Pie Tasting
Now that you have conquered your cardio, it’s time to move on to the food! While you’re most likely busy in the kitchen preparing savory classics, sometimes it’s nice to head to a local bakery to cover dessert. This year, have a few guests pick their favorite pie from their favorite bakery for some festive variety. Personally, we recommend the sweet potato pie from Mr. Dye’s Pies. Enjoy!
